Description

The Agape Center is the outreach center for the North Macomb Vicariate. Agape Center is a non-profit tax exempt 501 (c)(3) organization under the auspices of nine Catholic churches of the North Macomb Vicariate. Those parishes are: St. Clement of Rome, St. Isidore, SS. John & Paul, St. John Vianney, St. Kieran, St. Lawrence, St. Mary Mystical Rose, St. Francis/St. Maximilian and St. Therese of Lisieux. The Agape Center is located in the historic Village of Romeo on the St. Clement of Rome campus. The food pantry provides emergency food to those in need. Available items include nonperishable foods, fresh vegetables and fruit, frozen foods, a variety of meat products, baby supplies, cleaning products and personal care items. A client visiting for the first time will be asked to provide basic information including names of family members, address, and phone number. The client is asked to provide identification for each member of the household receiving food. Clients are encouraged to apply for a DHS Bridge Card and advised that they are eligible for food for 12 months with a reassessment at the end of the 12-month period. Clients are not permitted to visit other pantries, but are allowed to visit the Agape Pantry once a month. Pantry hours: Monday 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Every Tuesday the pantry is open for those receiving Forgotten Harvest foods. The pantry is closed during severe weather when Romeo Community Schools are closed.
