CAA serves as a catalyst to reduce poverty and it symptoms through: Providing quality services; Empowering individuals; Developing resources; Collaborating with others; Advocating on behalf of the economically and socially disadvantaged; Improving the conditions in which people live, learn and work. The Food and Nutrition Department is dedicated to providing services to low-income households of all agesthroughout northern California. The North State Food Bank is one of the most fundamental operations this department provides. They collect and distribute food from surplus commodities, new government sponsored programs and initiatives. Develops community partnerships with food corporations, local vendors, and food drives. This department also includes the senior meal programs, providing home delivered meals for seniors who are ill or disabled and nutritious noon-time meals at our congregate dining sites, serving multiple counties in the north state area.
