CAER Food Shelf

Founded in 1979, CAER was established by 13 area churches to provide emergency food assistance to Elk River, Zimmerman and Otsego families in need. CAER is still supported by local churches as well as schools, civic and business organizations and individuals. They have all joined hands in a community effort to ensure that hunger is not a barrier to the well-being of people in our community. CAER, or Community Aid of Elk River, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit guided by an executive director, staff and volunteers with oversight by a Board of Directors. CAER's Board of Directors is made up of 12 volunteers who represent the communities CAER serves. Composed of retired and current business leaders, religious leaders and community members, CAER's Board strives to utilize CAER's resources in a fiscally responsible way.
