Nearly 14% of Midland residents officially live in poverty. A great many more teeter at the threshold, at risk of being pushed over by a high energy bill, a medical emergency, a car repair. When the teetering turns into a freefall, meals start disappearing. Midland residents can make an appointment to come to our U-Pick pantry 5 times per year, receiving a week's worth of groceries each time. We recommend appointments be requested early in the week for our Thursday pantry; we consistently reach capacity.
