Chicago Chesed Fund - Food Programs

Our hunger relief program often means the difference between a family having enough to eat and a family doing without sufficient nutrition. We help hundreds of Jewish families throughout Chicago feed their children with dignity. Food pantry - over 1,000 individuals a month - and twice that number during the holidays - shop free of charge for the kosher food products they need most. Emergency food distribution - monthly food packages for those unable to shop at the pantry. Food vouchers - gift cards to major supermarkets so clients can purchase food without embarrassment or stigma. "Shearis Haplate" - We collect leftover food from special events and distribute it to those in need. Produce Distribution - Fresh fruits and vegetables are available at two community-based locations each week. Challah for Shabbos - Bakery challahs are distributed to families in need every Friday.
