Description
We are a network of friends working to feed the ill, needy, seniors, and children of northeast Georgia. Our mission is to work toward ending hunger as part of an overall community effort to alleviate poverty. Founded in 1992, the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia began feeding the hungry with limited distribution of approximately 350,000 pounds of food to 36 agencies. Since that time we have grown tremendously distributing nearly 10.3 million pounds through 215 partner agencies in 2012. This is equivalent to 8.3 million meals. In all, we have distributed almost 81 million pounds of food or 67 million meals to northeast Georgia residents who might not know where their next meal will come from.
