Description

Loaves and Fishes of Union County is proud to be in its 30th year as a volunteer community food pantry and 501(c)(3) corporation that exists to support neighbors in crisis and distribute food, free of charge, to the many certified needy people of Union County, North Carolina. Loaves and Fishes of Union County now operates as one of the largest hunger fighting agencies in Union County. Last year alone they distributed over 600,000 pounds of food and nonfood grocery items through agency referral services. They could not do what they do without community support and a solid set of dedicated volunteers to run the pantries, keep the records, raise the funds and take the responsibilty to sort, inspect and pack groceries for distribution to families in crisis. Last year over 100 volunteers donated thousands of hours and still there was always work to be done. Loaves and Fishes of Union County is located in Union County to serve Union County.

Lucy Berthelot: My husband had a triple by-pass and now they are talking about a pace maker. He has not worked in over a year. I have been fighting SSD for about 3 years now. We have lost our home, thankfully we found a place but our funds have run out.I am writing to see what help if any you can offer. Food, rent, lights, anything. Or maybe you can send me where I need to go. Anything you could help with would be great. Thank you Lucy Berthelot
