Description
The Monroe Food Pantry provides emergency food for needy individuals and families in Monroe. We distribute food once a month to people who have registered with the Monroe Department of Social and Senior Services. The Pantry provides about a week's worth of food and other necessary items to more than 100 households per month. Volunteers help sort food, stock shelves, assist people with "shopping" for their groceries at the Pantry and deliver food to people who cannot get to the Pantry on their own. The Food Pantry Coordinator works 15 hours per week and relies on volunteers to help with many different tasks to get the work of the pantry done.
