Pittsboro Christian Church - Shepherd’s Shelves Food Pantry

Pittsboro Christian Church sponsors the Shepherd's Shelves Food Pantry for those in need of food assistance. We are open on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 10:00 AM to Noon. Our mission is to share the love of God through providing food to those in the community who are experiencing temporary financial hardship. The community and church members' provide food drives to help with the stocking of the pantry. We also rely on monetary donations from organizations and individuals to help fund this service. We work with Gleaners Food Bank to obtain food items to offer those in need. We also obtain items such as bread, bakery goods, fruits and vegetables from Gleaners to offer as part of the distribution. Shepherd's Shelves Food Pantry also sponsors the Gleaners food truck that comes to our church on the 1st Saturday of the months of January, March, May, July, September, and November. All food on those dates is provided by Gleaners through their organization. This is provided in our church parking lot no matter what the weather.
