Shalom Community Center is the only safe, daytime resource center in Monroe County for people who are living in poverty and experiencing its ultimate expressions: hunger, homelessness, and a lack of access to basic life necessities. Shalom Community Center is the only agency in the county that provides two nutritious meals per day. We serve breakfast from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and lunch from 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. In 2013 we provided a total of 71,696 meals, the largest number of sit-down meals of any agency in Monroe County! Between 2010 and 2012 we served a total of 230,488 sit-down meals!
