Description

Sister Dolores developed a remarkably dedicated and enthusiastic cadre of volunteers and benefactors that supported her mission to serve the poor. Today her legacy thrives, with parishioners who collect day old bread, bag food for distribution, provide fellowship to the homeless, and donate food and clothing for the pantry. Others support the outreach program through monetary donations by using the monthly Emergency Assistance collection envelope. Our mission is to provide relief to our brothers and sisters who are in critical need of food, clothing, and shelter. We serve the working poor and homeless in our community as well as the poorest of the poor in Tijuana. We maintain a community food pantry and clothes closet, support the San Diego Interfaith Shelter Network, coordinate the collection of basic commodities for distribution in Tijuana, and serve as a referral resource for other federal, state, and local social service agencies. The Sister Dolores Social Outreach Program is supported primarily by our parish volunteers who give so generously of their time and treasure and by the Emergency Food and Shelter program sponsored by the San Diego Food Bank. Hours of operation: Office hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; Food is dispensed Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 3:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m.; The clothes closet is open Monday 9:00 a.m. 11:00 p.m.; Sack Lunch Distribution: Homeless Only - Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 9:30 am - 11:00 am (one sack lunch per day). As the demand for our services continues to grow, so does the need for volunteers and donations.
