Description

The mission of the Take and Eat Food Pantry is to provide supplemental, nourishing food at no cost to economically disadvantaged residents of eastern Chatham County in a loving and compassionate manner that recognizes the dignity and equality of each individual. The pantry, located at Evergreen United Methodist Church, provides food-assistance to our hungry neighbors in eastern Chatham County, specifically the Northwood High School attendance area. Take and Eat Food Pantry is an ecumenical endeavor which involves support from Evergreen United Methodist Church, Chatham Community Church, Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church, Lystra Baptist Church, Holy Trinity - Chatham, and Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Individuals and families receive enough groceries to prepare meals for approximately one week and may visit the pantry twelve times during the calendar year. The pantry distributes groceries: 1st Tuesday of every month from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm; 2nd Tuesday of every month from 10:00 am to 11:00 am; 3rd Tuesday of every month from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm; 4th Tuesday of every month from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
