Description
The Freeport INN is an all-volunteer group that has been in existence for 27 years. We serve a free, well-balanced, nutritious multi-course hot meal at lunchtime to approximately 100 men, women and children each weekday. We also send food home for other family members, including elderly relatives or children in school. We encourage school children and local businesses to get INNvolved in community service by collecting small canned goods, toiletries and paper products which we distribute to the guests. To further assist the community, the Freeport INN provides free clothing such as socks, winter coats, jackets and accessories, and children's items, such as new/gently used toys. The soup kitchen holds its annual "School Supplies Day" during the last week in August. On that day, we distribute socks, backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, crayons, rulers and more for children attending kindergarten through the 12th grade. The event has grown in numbers with each passing year. Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-1:00pm
