The Salvation Army Center of Hope Emergency Shelter serves 600-700 meals a day- breakfast, lunch and dinner- 365 days a year. We receive many donations of food products from All Faiths Food Bank, local restaurants, commercial bakeries and supermarkets. The Sarasota community has been generous with their donations of food products. Much of the food preparation and work load in providing these meals daily is done by volunteers, skilled and unskilled workers. We aspire to provide nutritional and appetizing meals for our clients that are in crisis and struggling. This effort coincides with our history of providing a "hand-up" instead of a "hand-out." Families do not have to be homeless to be hungry. For emergency assistance from our FOOD PANTRY, those in need should contact our Social Services Office for help. SPECIAL EVENTS also help feed local residents that can benefit from extra food. Contact the Center of Hope for expanded serving hours for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.
