Description
The Weymouth Food Pantry is a neighbor-to-neighbor grassroots project aimed at ensuring food security for economically-distressed families in our town. Thanks to our generous contributors and dedicated volunteers, we provide 450-600 families with nutritious food each month. That's 2,826 people in 2014 or 5.2% of Weymouth residents. We put our neighbors in need in charge of their own food choices while also encouraging healthy eating habits by providing loads of fresh food options. Nourishing food for all creates a stronger Weymouth and a better world. Our programs include a community gardening project; deliveries to a local homeless shelter, people with disabilities, and the elderly; a backyard gardening program; and a satellite program we operate in partnership with churches, community centers, and schools around town. Service Hours: 9am - 11:30am Tuesday and Thursday, 4pm -6pm the last Thursday of the month
